Save/Restore Kaikondrahalli Lake – Bangalore
We are trying to save/restore Kaikondrahalli Lake, Bangalore and need your support. Many go there for morning and evening walk/jog and must have been aware of the present condition of the lake.
It is one of the traditional tank systems in Bangalore which was created over hundreds of years ago and connected through a web of canals to different lakes. This was also used to provide water to the agricultural lands around the area. Unfortunately, it has turned into a slushy malarial bed of sewage and waste.
We have been talking to people and concerned officials in BBMP and have sent them letters in this regard, but no action taken till date and much reasoning is being given to defend their inability to do something about it.
Next, we are going to submit the letters in person, seeking their actions to restore/save this lake. Hope our Hon. #karnataka #chiefminister Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK SHIVAKUMAR also look into this matter, and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw may extend her helping hands too as this is not about only one one lake issue, as most of the Bangalore lakes are in same condition and need immediate attention from #government of Karnataka.
We are looking for some volunteers to participate in this campaign and show our strength. Improving the condition of Kaikondrahalli lake is not only important for its ecosystem health and enhancing the air & water quality but also make Bangalore better and beautiful.
